Questions and Answers for Bed Rails

Q. Why are the bed rails being recalled?
A. Beyond Med Shop is conducting this recall to keep our customers safe and to prevent injuries. When in use, there is the danger that users can get trapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the mattress – possibly causing injury or death by asphyxiation. This recall is aimed at addressing this hazard.
 
We are working closely with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on this recall.
 
Q. How is Beyond Med Shop conducting this recall?
A. The CPSC has approved an easy-to-install repair kit. You will receive a replacement grip handle and a rear support.  When these replacement parts are installed to your existing bedrail, it will address the entrapment hazard. Q. How do I participate in the recall?
A. Visit our website https://www.beyondmedshop.com/pages/product-recall to register for the recall and submit the necessary documents. Following this, we will contact you and we will send you a bedrail repair kit to install to your existing bedrail. This repair kit will address the entrapment hazard associated with the use of the bedrail.

Q. My product appears to be okay. Can I continue using it?
A. No. If your bedrail is part of this recall, you should STOP using it immediately.
 
Q. How can I tell if my product is affected by the recall?
A. Locate the Item Number/Serial Number Labels on the Support Rail or Support Rail Legs. Your product is part of this recall if the numbers begin with the following:

Q. What are the documentations that are required to participate in the recall?
A. We will need a copy of your 1) purchase record and 2) either the serial number or pictures of the bedrail.
 
Q. Can I get a refund or replacement for the bedrail.
A. The CPSC-approved remedy for this recall is a free repair kit. We urge that you register on our website https://www.beyondmedshop.com/pages/product-recall, get on our list.  The repair kit will be shipped to you as soon as it becomes available. We will not be issuing a refund.
 
Q: I no longer have the bed rail. Can I still participate in the recall?
A. If you no longer have the bed rail, you will not be affected by the recall.
 
Q. I do not have the proof of purchase for the bed rail. Can I still participate in the recall?
A. Yes. Proof of purchase is not compulsory but it would be very helpful if you can.
 
Q: I received the recalled bed rail from someone else. Am I still eligible to participate in the recall?
A: Yes. Simply provide us with the serial number OR a picture of the bed rail.
 
Q. How long will it take for me to receive the repair kit?
A. The repair kits are in transit and we should be receiving them sometime in May 2023. After you submit your recall registration and it is verified and approved, we will put you on our list and ship you the repair kit as soon as we receive them.
 
Q. Will I be able to repair the bed rail myself?
A. The replacement part is easy to install. We will also provide you with written instructions. However, if you still cannot install the replacement part, please contact us at 877-836-8838. Our representatives will be more than happy to assist you with the installation.
 
Q. I have more than one of the recalled bed rails? Do I have to register them all?
Please submit a separate registration for each bed rail at https://www.beyondmedshop.com/pages/product-recall. We will process each individually.
 
Q. I don’t have a computer to register. I don’t have a smart phone to take pictures? How do I still participate in the recall?
A. Please contact us at 877-836-8838 between 9:00 am to 4:00 Central Time (Monday to Friday) and one of our representatives will be more than happy to assist you with the registration.
